Meet Blue Flag Farm

Blue Flag Farm is named for the origin story of the road the farm is on, Flaggy Meadow Road, named for the presence of the native blue flag iris. We love the plant and the color blue, so it seemed like a natural fit!

For more than ten years Katie has been either working professionally in the horticulture and floral industry or teaching the subjects. After a growing family inspired her to go back to her roots as a part time art teacher in order to be with her children and gardens more, she decided to put her ten years of growing and designing experience to work on her family farm in Buxton, Maine.

With an eye towards sustainability and supporting other Maine and New England businesses, Blue Flag Farm aims to offer high quality flowers and florist services to clients from Maine and beyond.

Our Mission

At Blue Flag Farm, we believe that our values do not need to be compromised to celebrate life's greatest moments. Through my years working in a variety of floriculture enterprises, from public gardens to florists and flower farms, I have seen the best and worst of how social, environmental, and economic values become skewed in the name of celebrating. I have spent years envisioning a different way.

Choosing Blue Flag Farm as your special event florist means you trust the beauty held in each Maine season and see the value in things new, gently used, or just plain old. BFF is for those who desire to support their local economy, knowing there is tangible satisfaction spending on real things, made or grown by hand, by real people, not far from home.

Blue Flag Farm aims to bring this experience to customers from Maine and beyond.
